Why You Should Hate The Color Beige

The Problem With The Color Beige

The brief “two-page” chapter (written by John Mason) relates the color beige to living a ”neutral” and “defensive” life; the chapter goes on to state that ”People who live defensively never rise above being average.”

What does the color beige mean to me?

Here’s my take on the color beige.

Beige is an “average” color; it’s not too bright, not too dark, it never offends, it blends in with almost anything, and therein lies the problem.

The color is just too average, and I don’t like to be associated with the mundane.

Why shouldn’t you like the color beige?

Beige represents the “status quo,” it represents limits, it represents lack.  You are capable of producing much more than a “beige life,” and if you’re capable of producing more, then that’s exactly what you should do.

Take the limits off!

Average-ness

I don’t like average things!  I despise average-ness so deeply that I’ve written a poem about it:

I Don’t Want to Be Average

I don’t want to live in an average house
I don’t want to be married to an average spouse
I don’t want to drive an average car
It’s not my preference to dine in a bar
I desire clothes that don’t come off the rack
I don’t believe in lack
I want my body to impress
I will have the very best

You were created to be unique, and to possess the best, so never conform! You don’t have to be average, you don’t have to have an average haircut, drive an average car, live in an average home, be 20 pounds overweight like the average American, or do work that you despise like all of your friends.

But, before you can get to the point where you rid your life of average-ness, there’s one critical step that you must take.  There’s one decision you have left to make, you must decide that your least favorite color is beige.  You must renounce the color!  Get mad at the color, nothing happens until you get angry.

Declare: “I’m not going to be average; when people look at me they’ll think the best, because I wear the best, drive the best, live in the best, groom like the best, talk like the best, and act like the best; I deserve the best!”  If not you, then who?

Average-ness is Taught

Most people have been taught to be “average,” and that average-ness goes on to display itself throughout their entire life.  Average-ness cannot be contained!  You cannot play with average-ness without it overtaking you.  The scripture asked the question, “Can a man take hot coals in his lap and not be burned?”

In Closing

Remember that you deserve the best that life has to offer; the best food, the best kids, the best spouse, the best career, simply the best!  If you believe that, …then you will shed off average-ness today, you will join the “We Don’t Like Beige Club,” and your life will never ever be the same!

7 Must Read Lessons on the Power of Perseverance

No one succeeds without perseverance, it’s perseverance that guides you through the dark nights, and it’s perseverance that gets you through the difficult days.  Perseverance is defined as steady persistence in a course of action, in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.  Today I want to discuss seven motivational lessons on perseverance that will inspire you to achieve your dreams.

“Through perseverance the turtle reached the ark.” – Mr. Self Development

7 Must Read Lessons on Perseverance:

1. We All Start Small

“The greatest oak was once a little nut who held its ground.”  - Author Unknown

The scripture tells us to “despise not the day of small beginnings….though thy beginning be small, thy latter end shall greatly increase.”

No matter how large the tree, it was once a tiny seed.  …The oak tree sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg.   Every “somebody” was once a “nobody.”

Remember, there was a time when Bill Gates was unheard of; there was a time when Google was just a thought.

Right now maybe a time where you’ve not accomplished all that you would like to accomplish, but if you persevere, just as sure as you’re reading these words right now, success will be yours.

Your time will come, …if you persistently apply the success principles.

2.  Just Keep on Walking

“If we are facing in the right direction, all we have to do is keep on walking.” – Buddhist Saying

You may not be where you want to be, but you’re closer than you were yesterday.  So don’t get side-tracked by your past mistakes, focus on the journey ahead.  I like what the Apostle Paul said, he said, “I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark…”

3. Perseverance is Hard Work

“Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.”  - Newt Gingrich

Perseverance is hard work!  It’s easy to quit, it’s easy to make excuses, it’s easy to justify why you shouldn’t persevere.

Sure you will get tired on your journey, take a break, and then persevere.  …It will be worth it in the end, as the saying goes, “No journey is too great, when one finds what he seeks.”

4. Finish the Race

The race is not given to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, …but to the one who endureth until the end.” – Common Quote Derived from Biblical References

Success requires a long-term commitment, it requires you to finish the race, it requires persistence.  William Feather said, “Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go” while Robert Brault said, “Stubbornly persist, and you will find that the limits of your stubbornness go well beyond the stubbornness of your limits,” I think that’s good advice.

5. You have to Persistently Persevere

“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another.”  – Walter Elliott

Create a lifestyle of persevering!  Your life shouldn’t be lived in a comfort zone, which is why I tell people to never fear failure, fear being comfortable.  When you’re comfortable you’re not growing, and when you’re not growing, you’re dying.

Stretch your limits; persevere from one goal to another.  Be persistently persistent, “There’s no telling how many miles you will have to run while chasing a dream.”

6. It’s Darkest Before Dawn

“Don’t be discouraged.  It’s often the last key in the bunch that opens the lock.” – Author Unknown

Perseverance is requisite for success!  Every success story is a story of perseverance.  If you succeed, it will be because you persevered in the face of seeming impossibilities.  It will be because you learned from your problems; you didn’t let them stop you.  Robert Schuller says, “Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines.”  Your problems show you where you need to improve, they show you what you should focus on; you should thank God for your problems.

Don’t be discouraged, Charles Kettering said, “Keep on going, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it.”  He said, “I never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down.”

7. You Can’t Do The Impossible Overnight

Difficult things take a long time, impossible things a little longer.”  - Author Unknown

Aim for the impossible.  Thomas Foxwell Buxton reminds us that, “With ordinary talent and extraordinary perseverance, all things are attainable.”  With enough perseverance, and enough time, you can climb any mountain, accomplish any task, or fulfill any dream; you just have to be determined.  With time, you can do anything; you can swim rivers or cross deserts.

Earl Nightingale said, “Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it.  The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.”  So set your sights high, know that it will take time, but that’s okay, because you’re going to enjoy the journey.

7 Amazing Life Lessons from Oprah

[caption id="attachment_894" align="aligncenter" width="250" caption="Oprah-winfrey"]Oprah-winfrey[/caption]

Oprah Winfrey is an American television host, producer, and philanthropist.  Oprah is most known for her self-titled, multi-award winning talk show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history.

She has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and was once the world’s only black billionaire.

Some consider Oprah to be the most influential woman in the world.

Winfrey was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother; she was later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighborhood.  Oprah went though considerable hardship during her childhood, but has become a person of great success.

7 Amazing Life Lessons from Oprah:

1. See What You Want to Be

“When I look into the future, it’s so bright it burns my eyes.”

What do you see when you look into your future? What you see is what you’ll get.  Do you see your future as so bright it burns your eyes?  If you do, then that’s what you’re going to get.  If you see your future as “average,” then that’s exactly what you’ll get as well.

Your perception of your future will eventually become your reality, so begin to see what you want to be today.

2. You Must Change

“We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.”

As I often say, in order to have more, you must become more.  Nothing changes in your life until you grow.  What are you doing (daily) to grow, to change?  If you’re not changing, you should not expect your life to change.  To the degree that you change, is to the degree that your life will change.  If you keep on doing, what you’ve always been doing, you’re going to keep on getting the results you’ve always been getting, to expect otherwise is insane.

3. We All Fall Down

“Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it.”

Imagine if a small child quit trying to learn how to walk after falling down twenty times.  Imagine if he or she said, “I guess this walking thing isn’t for me.”  In life you will fail, you will make mistakes, you will get discouraged, but you must not quit.  Every failure is a step in the right direction.  The only people not failing are the people who are not stretching themselves beyond their current comfort zone.  Dare to fail until you succeed.

4. Maximize Your Potential

“The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be.”

Are you maximizing your potential?  Are you utilizing 100 percent of your skills, talents, and knowledge, or are you settling.  The purpose of life is to grow, to become all that you were intended to be.

Your purpose is to grow big enough so that you can help others, so the question is, are you maximizing your potential?

5. Think Bigger

“What God intended for you goes far beyond anything you can imagine.”

So many people live beneath their capabilities because they are riddled with guilt by the thought of living a lavish life.  Your creator intended for you to have the best, and to become your very best.  The best was made for you!  If not you, then who?

6. Focus on the Good

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

As we all know, what you focus on expands!  If you focus on the good, you will get more of it.  If you focus on lack and poverty, you will get more of that as well.  Learn to recognize the good in your life; give thanks for it everyday.  Soon your focus will change, and so will your life.

7. The Power of Passion

“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”

Passion is experienced when you do what you love.  Passion is power!  Discover your passion, and dedicate your life to fulfilling that passion, no matter how long it takes.

Thank you for reading and be sure to pass this along!

7 Must Read Success Lessons from Donald Trump

Donald Trump
To many, Donald Trump is considered to be one of the most successful individuals of our generation. Trump is an American business entrepreneur, author, socialite and television personality. He is the Chairman and CEO of the Trump Organization, as well as a famous real-estate developer.

Donald is also the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts, a company which operates a multiplicity of

casinos and hotels all around the world. Trump's lavish lifestyle and witty personality has made him a celebrity, and his hit reality television show, The Apprentice, has solidified this status.

Today I want to talk about seven things we can learn from the billionaire Donald Trump. Any person who could amass such success is bound to be an inspiration.

7 Success Lessons from Donald Trump

  1. Focus on the Present
“I try to learn from the past, but I plan for the future by focusing exclusively on the present. That's were the fun is.”

Yesterday is buried, and tomorrow is not yet born; the only progress that can be made toward success has to be done in the present moment, so I recommend that you focus all of your energies into making the present moment as productive as possible. If you don’t, your past will duplicate itself into your future.

  2. Fail Forward
“Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war.”

Never fear failure, failure is the path to success. If at first you don’t succeed, then … that makes sense. Success takes time and it requires failure, through the process of failing you will discover how to succeed. Don’t fear failing, fear not giving your all.

  3. Think Big
“As long as you’re going to be thinking anyway, think big.”

It takes no more time to think big as it does to think small. Plan for big things in your life, there’s always room at the top for the person who’s willing to think bigger. Leave "little thinking" for people who want to accomplish little things, but not you. Success begins with thinking big.

  4. Do What You Love
“If you're interested in 'balancing' work and pleasure, stop trying to balance them. Instead make your work more pleasurable.”

I saw a billboard the other day that said, “Life is too short to eat oatmeal,” I don’t know about that, but I do know that life is too short to do work that you despise. Trump said, “I don't make deals for the money. I've got enough, much more than I'll ever need. I do it, to do it.” Whatever you do, you must do it, to do it, because you will only have success doing what you love!

  5. Stay Positive
“What separates the winners from the losers is how a person reacts to each new twist of fate.”

Nothing is more constant then “change.” What worked for someone else will not necessarily work for you on your path to success. Challenges that others did not have, you may have. What separates the winners from the losers is that winners react positively to unforeseen challenges. Winners go over the hurdles that stop others.

  6. Passion is Power
“Without passion you don’t have energy; without energy you have nothing.”

The main ingredient for success is energy. Nothing great can ever be accomplished with out “amazing” levels of energy, and energy comes from passion, so what’s the lesson? Always follow your passion, and you will always have the energy to accomplish your dreams.

  7. Experience is Priceless
“Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you're generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don't make.”

You need experience; there are things that experience will teach you that you can’t learn in any other way. Never underestimate the value of getting your hands dirty. With experience come priceless lessons that will position you for success.

Hopefully you’ve been able to gain some insights from Donald’s wisdom.

To recap: Always remember to: Focus on the present, fail forward, think big, do what you love, stay positive, and know that passion is power and experience is priceless.

Thank you for reading and be sure to pass this along!

Today i would like to share something about my co-worker Liyakat Ali Balbale [ Maintainence Manager & A Skilled Carpenter & also an AC  Technician ]

I have a habit of Downloading Movies from the net on a daily basis, so couple of days back I happen to tell my friends in the office where even Liyakat was present that my laptop is getting too hot due to excessive downloads .He heard it & made one beautiful & most of all a practical table which solved my problem, without even telling me ,he inserted a fan which sucked the hottness & releases in the air which you can see in the above image. He did this out of love & respect  for me without expecting anything in return.

The point here ,I would like to bring out is ,this small gesture was a good deed from him to me.

If I told him,he would have made it anyways like i tell him to do some things & he do it. He did this on is own without me knowing it, this may not be a big deal for him but this gesture will stay in my mind for a lifetime ,whenever the topic of laptop will arise in the future wherever i am ,i will always remember him for that small gesture. From his point of view ,he did not do anything amazing ,he may not even remember this instance in future but i will remember it.

Customer Service Point: My point was how many of the salespeople  are doing such a good deed to a customer so that the customer will remember you for a lifetime & he will comeback to do business with you every time he wants to buy something which you are selling. If you generate this kind of clients ,it will rocket your business like anything , you don't have to spend a bomb for advertising as this customers will do mouth publicity & the power of mouth publicity is huge which you cant even imagine as to generate new clients you need advertising costs which will be saved.

TAO OF WARREN BUFFET # 12 .

[caption id="attachment_876" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption=" Lord,helps those who help themselves"] Lord,helps those who help themselves[/caption]

"The market, like the Lord, helps those who help themselves. But unlike the Lord, the market does not forgive those who know what they do."

The stock market is there to make you rich if you know what you are doing. But if you dont know what you are doing,it will show no mercy in making you poor.Ignorance, when mixed with greed,is the stuff financial disasters are made of. In 1969 ,at the high end of the sixties bull market,Warren thought stocks were so overpriced that he got out of the market completely. By 1973-74 the stock market had completely reversed itself and stocks were selling at abrgain prices .Warren bought them up with the appetite of as he said,"a sex-starved man in the middle of a harem filled with beautiful women." Many of those beauties went on to help make him a billionaire.

As for those investors who stayed in the market after Warren left in 1969,many of them lost their shirts when it crashed in '73-74,and getting back in became impossible-you need money to buy stocks. It really does help if you know what you are doing.

7 Success Lessons from Henry Ford

1. Serve Others

“A business absolutely devoted to service will have only one worry about profits. They will be embarrassingly large.”

The secret to success lies in serving others!  All successful people serve, the greater the success, the greater the service.  Wealth is created from service, wealth only comes from service.  Ford said, “Wealth, like happiness, is never attained when sought after directly. It comes as a by-product of providing a useful service.”  Who are you serving?

2. Focus

“There is no man living that can not do more than he thinks he can.”

You are completely unaware of your potential, because you’ve never focused all of your efforts on one task.  You spend an hour of your day doing this, three hours doing that, but you never focus all of your attention to one assignment.

When you focus your life, impossibilities become possibilities.  Get focused, you can do more than you think you can!

3. Be Productive

“It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste.”

We all have 24 hours in our day, yet some succeed while others fail.  Why is this?  The reason is because some successfully control their day, while others are controlled by their day.  Some dictate where their day goes, while other’s let their day dictate where they go.

If you fail, you will fail because you failed to make excellent use of your time, if you succeed, you will have succeeded in mastering your time!  Are you mastering your time?

4. Solve Problems

“Most people spend more time and energy going around problems than in trying to solve them.”

You will only be rewarded for the problems that you solve for other people.  Are you solving any problems?  If you solve big problems you will receive big rewards, if you solve little problems, then you will receive little rewards.  If you solve problems for a few people, then your payment will be small, if you solve problems for the masses, then you will become rich.

Don’t waste your time going around problems, solve them!

5. Nothing is Particularly Hard

“Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.”

Henry Ford said, “There are no big problems; there are just a lot of little problems.”  When you think about it…you see how true this is, nothing is really “that hard.”  You climb a mountain one step at a time; the individual steps aren’t hard; the hard part is being consistent.

Eat your elephant one bite at a time, and one day it will be all gone.

6. Keep Your Eye on the Prize

“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.”

Never take your eyes off your goal!  It is the goal that motivates; it is the goal that gives you the strength to keep going.  You must consistently see what you want to be.  You must see the goal as complete; you must experience the goal as accomplished in your imagination.

7. Think!

“Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it.”

Thinking is how you prepare, it’s the hard work, it’s where you figure out the little nuances and “make ready” your plans.  Ford said, “Before everything else, getting ready is the secret of success.”  Are you ready?  Are you thinking?

Thinking is the hard work, but someone’s gotta do it, someone’s gotta get ready to succeed!

Ratan Tata - Tata Group's CEO

Ratan Tata photo
Ratan N. Tata is the chairman of India's largest conglomerate, the Tata Group, established by his family's earlier generations. Tata is organized into seven divisions: engeneering, materials, chemicals, energy, NTIC, services and consumption goods.

Ratan Tata
was born in 1937, in Mumbai, India. The Tata family have been active in industry and philanthropy since the 19th century. The Tata Group, founded by Ratan's great grandfather, Jamsetji Tata, is one of the largest private employers in India. JRD Tata, Ratan's father, was the first Indian citizen to obtain a plane pilot's license, and he is considered the father Indian aviation. In 1932, he founded Tata Airlines, which became Air India in 1946.
Ratan's childhood was troubled as his parents divorced when he was 7 years old. He was raised by his grandmother. After the Campion School in Mumbai, he graduated in Architecture and Structural Engineering from Cornell University, New York, in 1962.
That same year, he joined the Tata Group to work in the family steel plant in Jamshedpur, where he shoveled limestone and handled the blast furnaces alongside other employees.
In 1971, Ratan was named Director-in-Charge of the NELCO (National Radio & Electronics Company Limited), a venture that was in dire financial difficulty. But with a lot of flair and despite JRD's disapproval, he invested in developing high-technology products. The company climbed from a 2% market share to 20% in 1975. But the economic recession of 1975 and the confrontations between Tata with the unions took its toll on the venture.
In 1981,Ratan was appointed chairman of Tata Industries, the group's other holding company, where he was in charge of transforming it into the group's strategy think-tank and promoting new ventures in high-technology businesses.
Ratan took over as group chairman from JRD Tata in 1991, and since then has ushered in young managers pushing out the old guard. He reshaped the fortunes of the Tata Group, which today holds the largest market capitalization of any business on the Indian stock market. Ratan also introduced Tata Motors on the New York Stock Exchange.
In 2006, Ratan signed agreements with Italian car manufacturer Fiat and helped introduce the Italian cars the Indian market.
In December 2007, Ratan, who turned 70, launched the "peoples' car," officially the Tata Nano, at Auto Expo in New Delhi. It's the world's most inexpensively manufactured car and is sold for $2.522.

Carlos Slim - Telmex's CEO

Carlos Slim Helú, the world’s second richest man, was born to Lebanese parents in Mexico City in January 1940.

Slim gained notoriety when he led a group of investors, including France Telecom and Southwestern Bell Corporation, in acquiring Telmex and Telnor from the Mexican government in 1990 during the presidency of Carlos Salinas de Gortari.

Today, Telmex operates 90 percent of Mexico’s telephone lines. The mobile company Telcel, also controlled by Slim, operates almost 80 percent of the country's cell phones. And over the last five years, Slim's wireless carrier, América Móvil, has purchased cell phone companies across Latin America, becoming region's dominant company and counting on more than 100 million subscribers.

Forbes magazine, in March 2008, ranked Carlos Slim as the world's second-richest person, behind Warren Buffet and in front of former winner Bill Gates.

Based on the value of his public holdings, Slim’s net worth is estimated $60 billion.

Slim told the Wall Street Journal recently that he credits his prowess and flair, his ability to discover investment opportunities, to the writings of futurist author Alvin Toffler.

It’s an intuition that gained him fame – and millions – in 1997, when he acquired 3 percent of Apple computer’s stock just before the company introduced its famous iMac computers.

In recognition of his flamboyant business trajectory, Slim has been awarded the Entrepreneurial Merit Medal of Honor from Mexico's Chamber of Commerce. He also was voted C.E.O. of the Year in 2003 by Latin Trade magazine and C.E.O. of the Decade by the same magazine.

career with the family in the steel-making trade until 1976, when the Mittal family founded its own steel business. Mittal then developed the international division of the company, starting with the purchase of a bankrupt plant in Indonesia. In 1994, due to disagreements with his father and brothers, he took over all the international trade of the family's steel business and branched out on his own.

In 2002, a British member of Parliament, Adam Price, made public a controversial link between Mittal and Prime Minister Tony Blair, an affair later referred as the Garbagegate or Cash for Influence. Through his Dutch Antilles-based company LNM, which gathers less than 1% of its workforce (estimated at more than 100,000) in the United Kingdom, Mittal sought Blair's European influence in its bid to take over control of Romania's state-owned steel industry. Price obtained a copy of the letter Blair addressed to the Romanian government, which insinuated that the privatization and sale of the firm to LNM might ease the process of Romania's entry into the European Union.

In return, Mittal donated $245,000 to Blair's Labour Party after the 2001 general elections.

Ever since 2005, Mittal has been reported as the wealthiest person in the U.K. And he is the 5th richest man in the world, according to Forbes magazine, worth more than $50 billion.

Master Photo manipulator Marc da Cunha

Photo manipulations are probably one of the most entertaining and interesting things to do with Photoshop. Combining unrelated elements into a single image, mixing it with a lot of adjustment layers and meddling with the contrast, brightness and other elements. Often combined with other filters, textures, and effects, to create one-of-a-kind works of art which can be certainly challenging or simple as you want it to be, depending on exactly what you’re trying to create and how you want to send the message.

Built to kill – 40 breathtaking closeup photographs of animals

Surprisingly enough, photographing some species may require stalking skills or the use of a camouflage as well. Whilst wildlife photographs can be taken using basic equipment, successful photography of some types of wildlife requires specialist equipment, such as macro lenses for insects, long focal length lenses for birds and underwater cameras for marine life. However, since the advent of digital cameras and the never ending quest for adventures, this practice has evolved into totally new heights.

[caption id="attachment_834" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Reputation"]Reputation[/caption]

It takes twenty years to build a reputation and five minutes to lose it.If you think about that you will do things differently.

One foolish act and the bad press that goes with it can instantly destroy a good reputation that has taken a lifetime to build. Its best not to do something that you do is wrong, because if you are caught, the price you pay may be more than you can afford. This is Buffets credo that he whispered into the ears of his childrens from the time they were tots.

When the accounting scandal came down with insurance giant AIG,Buffet told his managers,'' The current investigation of the insurance industry underscores the imperative of the message that i regularly send to you in my biannual memo:Berkshire can afford to lose money, even lots of money: it cant afford to lose repuatation... And in the long run we will have whatever reputation we deserve. There is plenty of money to made in the centre of the court. There is no need to play around the edges.

Wallstreet is littered with fallen giants who let greed get in the way of good judgement and failed to heed this advise.

Happiness does not buy you money,

Warren never confused being rich with happiness. We are talking about a guy who still hangs out with the same people he did in high school and still lives in the same neighbourhood in which he grew up.Money hasnt changed who he is on a fundamental level. When asked by college students to define success,he has said it is being loved by the people you hope love you. You can be the richest man in the world ,but without the love of family and friends, you would also be the poorest.

Exceed Customers Expectations !

[caption id="attachment_819" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Exceed Customers Expectations !"]Exceed Customers Expectations ![/caption]

Reap the rewards of customer loyalty by proving you're reliable and dependable.

Every day, hundreds of thousands of people choose to do business with a particular person or business because there's an assurance they'll get what they expect, when they expect it, the way they expect it.

And yet thousands of businesses lose at least one customer every day because they did not live up to the reasonable expectations of their clientele in terms of reliability, responsibility or dependability.

The sad truth is, many businesses (and people) have made a habit of being:

Careless
Maybe they forgot, maybe they get a better offer or opportunity, maybe they just can't get their act together--the bottom line is, whatever you wanted didn't get done.

Spineless
People will tell you they'll have something completed by a certain time or date even though they know they know they can't deliver. That's because they believe (often with good reason) that you'll take your business elsewhere if they tell you the truth. Somehow telling you "yes" now and facing the music later feels more comfortable.

Fearful
Often, people are embarrassed to admit they don't understand what you want because they're afraid they'll look stupid. They are uncomfortable calling back when they realize they forgot to call earlier because they're afraid they'll look like they weren't paying sufficient attention to the account or aren't on the ball.

Dishonest
Many businesses lowball a price in order to appear competitive, and then make up for it with hidden charges. Or they provide an inferior product or service and declare you'll have to pay more if you want what you thought you were getting in the first place. And then there are those who refuse to complete the service or hand over the product until you pay more than originally agreed on.

Where does that leave the customer? In dire straits. It's bad enough if the customer is purchasing the product or service for himself. But if it's a component of a product or service for that customer's client

, it could easily cost the customer that client, other monetary damages and the company's reputation.

Reliability in Action
When someone needs something done by a set date, or a service performed in a specific manner, he's seeking someone who can provide that service with certainty. Many companies have built their reputation by providing that certainty for customers.

Reliability: FedEx realized it could corner the market by promising to get your letter to its destination overnight, without fail. The company created an entire niche that never existed before.

Dependability: A major attraction of all fast-food chains, aside from fast service, is that you can depend on the food tasting the same, no matter where in the country you happen to be.

Responsibility: A big selling point for many pest control businesses is that if you see another bug within a designated period of time, they'll come back and take care of it for free; in other words, they take responsibility for the quality of their work.

[caption id="attachment_810" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Broker"]Broker[/caption]

Wallstreet is the only place that people ride to in Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway.

Warren has always thought it strange that highly successful and intelligent businesspeople, who have spent lifetimes making huge sum of money, will take investments advise from stockbrokers too poor to take their advice. And if their advice is so great, why arent they all rich? May be they don’t get rich off their advice but off charging you commissions? One should be aware of people who need to use your money to make you rich, especially when the more things they sell you means the more money they will make.

More often than not, their agenda is to use your money to make themselves rich. And if they lose your money ?Well they just go out and find someone else to sell their advice to.

Warren feels so strongly about where Wall street true loyalties lie that he refuses to even look at the business projections that its analysts put together because, regardless of the nature of the business, the projections are always too rosy.

[caption id="attachment_806" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="catholic marries - for life."]catholic marries - for life.[/caption]

You should invest like a catholic marries - for life.

Warren knows that if you view the investment decisions from the perspective that you will never be able to undo it,you wouldnt jump into a marriage without doing your research(dating.) and discussing it with your advisers(your pals at the pub) and thinking long and hard about it...... Would you? Nor should you jump into an investement without knowing a lot about the company and making sure you understand it. But it is the life part that really makes the money.Consider this : In 1973 Warren invested  $11 million in the Washington post company, and he remains married to this investement even to this day ,and over the thirty years he has held on to it,it has grown to be worth $1.5 billion. The conviction to stay the course can bring heavenly rewards,as long as you have chosen the right one to begin with.

It is easier to stay out of trouble than it is to get out of trouble.

It is far easier easier to avoid the temptation of breaking the law to make easy money than it is to deal with the consequences if you get caught. To stay out of trouble ,just do the right thing at the right time.To get out of trouble ,you need a lot of money and a lot of legal talent ,and even then you may end up serving a lot of time.

This lesson was driven home when Warren nearly lost his entire $700 million investment in the Wallstreet firm of Salomon brothers. The Federal reserve bank came within inches of shutting down the entire firm for its illegal bonding trading activities which were committed by the trader trying to make a quick buck. What did it cost to get out of trouble? The jobs of several of the firms top traders, the jobs of its chairman and CEO, and millions in legal fees , fines, lawsuits, and lost business. It would have been a lot easier, and far more profitable,to have stayed out of trouble from the start.

Profits from Shoplifters.

The Chung Fat Supermarket in Flushing, Queens, displays photos of customers with goods it says they were stealing.

The A & N Food Market on Main Street in Flushing, Queens, has an almost entirely Chinese clientele. The inventory includes live eels, turtles and frogs, frozen duck tongue and canned congee. These goods, like products sold in every neighborhood of the city, attract their share of shoplifters. But A & N Food Market has an unusual way of dealing with the problem.

At the Chung Fat supermarket in Flushing, Queens, security camera monitors at the store’s entrance watch shoppers’

First, suspected shoplifters caught by the store’s security guards or staff members have their identification seized. Then, they are photographed holding up the items they are accused of trying to steal. Finally, workers at the store threaten to display the photographs to embarrass them, and to call the police — unless the accused thieves hand over money.
